Open Role | Senior Interior Designer

Location: Greater Seattle area (work from home, but available for client site visits)

WHO YOU ARE

You have years of experience under your belt and it shows — in the confidence you bring to a client meeting, the speed at which you can read a space, and the instincts you've developed about what works. You lead with taste and follow through with precision. Design isn't just your job; it's the lens throughwhich you see the world.

You own your projects from first concept to final install, and you're comfortable guiding clients through big decisions with clarity and conviction. You know how to earn trust quickly — from clients, contractors, and junior teammates alike. When things get ambiguous (and they will), you don't wait for someone to hand you a roadmap. You draw one.

You're generous with your knowledge and invested in the growth of the designers around you. You raise the bar for the whole team just by being in the room.

WHO WE ARE

We're a fast-moving, design-obsessed team that takes on a lot and does it well. Our designers get to be creative every single day — and they also manage budgets, hit deadlines, and collaborate across disciplines. We work with autonomy, back each other up, and communicate with honesty and respect.

We're a small business, and we're scaling. That means some weeks are chaotic, processes are still being built, and ambiguity comes with the territory. We've learned to thrive in it — and we're looking for someone who has too. At this level, you'll have real influence on how we grow.

A DAY IN THE LIFE

• Lead projects from concept through completion — owning client relationships, design direction, and final delivery.

• Develop sophisticated interior design concepts using AutoCAD, SketchUp, and 3D rendering tools.

• Prepare detailed technical drawings and plans, including space layouts, lighting plans, furniture specs, and material callouts.

• Serve as the primary point of contact for clients: facilitating discovery, presenting concepts, and navigating feedback with confidence.

• Mentor and support junior and assistant designers — reviewing work, sharing knowledge, and fostering a culture of quality.

• Collaborate with architects, contractors, and vendors to ensure design feasibility, integration, and on-time delivery.

• Manage multiple projects simultaneously, maintaining budget awareness and adherence to tight timelines.

• Contribute to internal process improvements — helping build repeatable systems that scale with the team.

• Stay current on design trends, emerging materials, and industry best practices, bringing new ideas to the table regularly.

• Provide remote support and consultations to clients and team members across project phases.

REQUIREMENTS

• 7+ years of professional interior design experience, with a strong portfolio of completed residential and/or commercial projects.

• Proficiency in AutoCAD and SketchUp is mandatory; 3D modeling and rendering experience strongly preferred.

• Demonstrated ability to independently own client relationships from onboarding through project close.

• Experience managing project budgets and schedules, with a track record of on-time, on-budget delivery.

• Strong design sensibility paired with deep technical knowledge of space planning, furniture specifications, and material selection.

• Excellent communication and presentation skills — you can distill complex ideas into clear, compelling narratives for clients.

• Experience mentoring junior designers or leading a small team is a significant plus.

• Highly organized, self-directed, and comfortable working with minimal supervision in a remote environment.

BENEFITS

• Competitive salary commensurate with experience.

• Extremely competitive PTO and vacation days.

• Employer-subsidized health, dental, and vision benefits through Blue Shield and Guardian.

• Opportunity to take on a leadership role in a growing, design-forward firm.

This position offers the chance to do meaningful work — leading projects that matter, shaping a growing team, and contributing to a firm that genuinely loves what it does. All from the comfort of your home.
