Treehouse

Nestled among the trees of Seattle’s Windermere neighborhood, this home has a history that rivals its Lake Washington views. It was built by architect Raymond H. Peck, famed for designing the iconic Dick’s Drive-In burger stands. The home was lovingly maintained by its original owners for over 65 years, until our clients purchased it in 2025.

The goal of this home renovation was to restore a fading Pacific Northwest gem back to its former glory. We restored as much of the original charm as possible — the terrazzo floors with brass inlay, the expansive windows, and the stone walls. We swapped the cramped kitchen layout for a curved island to improve flow while hosting. The primary suite was moved to the main floor to take advantage of the water views. And each material was thoughtfully selected to ensure architectural harmony. The result is an elevated design that celebrates the home’s history, while evolving it for the next 65 years.
